Bottle Coaster Ø 12

Outer size

Ø 12 cm · 2 cm rim

Thickness

2.5 mm

Tolerance

±3 mm on every outer dimension

Wet-moulded so the rim rises about 2 cm and holds condensation for the length of a dinner. Empty it and dry it flat afterwards — standing moisture is the one thing vegetable-tanned leather genuinely dislikes. The bottle stands on the base; the base is not a food surface.

Limits and behaviour

• Heat and moisture. Water-repellent only for as long as it takes to wipe a splash away. Keep hot items and standing water off it; this is not a trivet and makes no insulating claim.
• Colour transfer. A dark hide can mark a pale surface when warm or damp. Test a small hidden area first.
• Natural variation. Grain, tone and healed marks differ between hides and the burnished edge is darker than the face. This is the material, not a fault.
• Sensitive skin. Tanning agents can cause contact allergy in individual cases. We make no claim that this piece is allergen-free.

Care

Dust with a dry cloth and keep the form filled when not in use so the walls hold their line. Wipe spills immediately, dry flat and away from heat. Balm once or twice a year.
